Board Application
Ready to make a difference?
Join the Global Remission Network Board.
The mission of the Global Remission Network nonprofit organization is to introduce proactive rather than reactive multi-disciplinary treatment programs that teach the tools to move from sickness to remission and, ultimately, relapse prevention.
Forming a nonprofit organization allows us to:
raise funds, allowing for tax deductions for our donors
not pay taxes (tax-exempt)
apply for grants related to the work of the organization
collaborate with other nonprofit entities related to the organization’s work
What is expected of a board member?
Be informed about the mission of the organization, its services, policies, and programs. Be willing to share guidance, input, and trends from your area of expertise.
Attend 12 board meetings per year (unless the meeting is canceled). If unable to attend a meeting, be available for an individual consultation if needed. There may be opportunities for an additional regular meeting if committees are formed.
Read all minutes, financial and governing documents, and support materials as provided. This is the best way to ensure that board meetings run efficiently and effectively.
Meetings will be held at a regular time to be determined.
Actively participate in one or more fundraising activities. This may include individual and/or special event solicitation or direct mail appeals.
Provide or procure in-kind services to benefit the organization (optional).
Promote the organization regularly with business associates, friends, family, etc., through referrals and donor prospects.
Suggest potential nominees to the Executive Committee who can make significant contributions to the work of the board and the organization.
Terms are set up to be staggered, so you may be asked to fill a 1, 2, or 3-year term, depending on the board's needs. This helps the board have continuity in the long term.
